City in Movement by Eindhoven Museum

Eindhoven is a city that functions around creating the future. Its high patent turnover and large technological institutes reflect this reality. The past, however, often remains modestly discussed and the city’s post-war development stories are disappearing. In an attempt to preserve a unique piece of history, the four heritage museums of Eindhoven teamed up to make a joint programme using the knowledge and collections of all of them. The exhibition “Stad in Beweging” (“City in Movement”) honoured the mobility narratives of Eindhoven around the topics of technique, infrastructure and its social and cultural implications. How did technological and infrastructural developments influence the way of living of Eindhoven’s people?
